We welcome all the new umpires that have attend training so far this season. To all umpires that haven’t been down to training, can you make contact with your coach to inform them of your intentions to umpire this season or alternatively come down to training on Tuesday & Thursday nights at either Coburg City Oval or Windy Hill. Planning on travelling to Europe in 2012?? Wish to continue umpiring whilst overseas?? This may be the opportunity you are looking for. AFL Europe is giving the opportunity to any umpires who are travelling to Europe throughout the 2012 season to umpiring in their local competitions. With over 25 regions and nearly 3000 players competing this is a great opportunity to stay involved in the sport whilst travelling abroad.
In order to both recruit and retain umpires in the region we promote and strictly implement the ‘three strike’ system for umpire abuse. By ensuring the enjoyment of all participants in the game we believe locally developed umpires are more likely to stay involved long term. For any umpires that wish to find out more information please don’t hesitate to email Shane Hill, Umpires Coordinator AFL Europe on
